What the paper establishes
The engineering description of the Recyclotron™: a single vertical vessel with three zones, run under mild vacuum with no oxygen. Shredded feedstock and recirculated process media (75% and 25%) pass through a microwave field. The vapor and solids that leave are the two OmniCrude™ streams, internal intermediates that are refined downstream and never sold as they are.
An atom-balanced reaction network. More than 20 bond-breaking and reforming mechanisms are tracked, many running at once. Because the network conserves every atom, mass-balance closure at the reactor gate is structural, not tuned, and the paper demonstrates it element by element.
How the reactor works
Microwaves heat the material from within rather than from the vessel walls. The recirculated mineral media acts as a heating agent and as a catalyst at the same time, which is why mixed, multi-layered feedstock needs no upfront sorting or pre-drying.
The top zone converts the incoming material. A passive middle zone conditions the rising vapor and suppresses tar. The bottom zone is a steam-fluidized bed that strips residual carbon and discharges metal and mineral solids continuously.
Energy and environment
Energy-efficiency measures are kept separate in the paper: microwave delivery into the material, modelled gas-conversion efficiency, and projected net electrical efficiency. The paper also sets out the environmental profile and compares the process with conventional thermal conversion.
Measured, modelled and pending
The paper labels every value as verified, modelled or pending. The capability envelope is output from the ACM-1 simulation, benchmarked against published literature. Several stream rates and element sub-ledgers, and the measured dielectric data behind the absorption calculation, remain to be confirmed by instrumented metering on the first deployed production unit and third-party certification.
Evidence status
Capability values are model outputs awaiting confirmation on a deployed unit. The paper marks which values are which.
